While it doesn’t call out the Galaxy Note 9 by name, the picture of a Note stylus on the invitations sent out, plus the norm of Notes coming around the time, is an implication of the launch of the company’s next flagship device.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 rumoured specs
The Note 9 is expected to have a bigger 6.4-inch display, a larger 4000 mAh battery, an increase in RAM, a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor running Android 8.1, an increase in storage space, and an improved forward facing selfie camera. Several rumors have pointed out that the phablet will be an upgrade to the Note 8, just as the Galaxy S9 was to last year’s S8, with a focus on an improved camera rather than changing the build and design. Actually, the Note 9 is expected to be a bigger and upgraded version of the Galaxy S9 that was launched in March this year. Samsung is known to use the Note series as a platform for bigger hardware experiments and potential overhauls, and it won’t come as a surprise to see some new additions like the in-display fingerprint scanner. However some leaked renders, based on a factory computer-aided design, show that the scanner will be right below the camera lens, in a position similar to what is on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. Though the S9 has its cameras stacked vertically, while the render images have them side by side. Other rumoured details include a 3.5mm headphone port, USB-C port, speaker grille, microphone on the bottom edge, slim bezels with no notch on the front, power and volume buttons on the left edge and a Bixby button on the right. We’ll surely find out in the next few weeks when the event rolls around plus when the leaks start to show up.
